The big tournaments!

Contrary to popular belief, the most important thing is that you win rather than have fun! Therefore this year’s line-up of tournaments has been stacked like never before. More games, larger prizes and larger prize pool! Gather your team of five, three or one person (there’s no “I” in “TEAM” but we’ll make an exception) and join the fight for glory!

This year, D-LAN hosts tournaments in 5 different games, that plus guest tournaments from SBAB, Etimo, Sectra, Smash University and LiU Gamers.

Don’t miss early tickets for competing teams! Take your friends and register as a team together(or alone) at the "Lagsläpp"! Date and time can be found here.

A word on cheating accusations

Remember this is a game we all love and cherish and it would not help anyone to make wrong accusations, as cheating or other similar things. We play this to have a good time together, so make it count!

If there still is a strong feeling that someone is cheating make sure to report it to the Head Referee (Överdommare) or to the referee at hand and he will report it further. Thanks in advance!

Game Admin (Överdomare)

All participants must adhere to the decisions and rules of the tournament organizers, admins, and referees. All decisions are final, except in cases where the option to appeal is clearly stated. Conversations, either verbal or written, between organizers, admins, or referees, and participants are confidential. Publicly posting or sharing these conversations with outside parties is strictly forbidden, unless permission is obtained.

Discord

For anyone considering compeeting in any of the tournaments it is important that you join our D-LAN Discord server. That is where the majority of organization and communication will happen related to the games. There you can ask questions to any of the D-LAN members, referees and other participants. Give us your Discord tag when signing up and you'll even get your own shiny role to give you access to closed off text and voice channel for participants.

CS:GO

Tournament process:

  • Team Captains joins the tournament through a Google Form which is supplied by D-LAN. The team size has to be equal to the team size of the tournament. Which in this case is 5v5, therefore each team needs at least 5 people to compete in the tournament.
    • If your team wants to have a substitute player, in case of someone not showing up or has to leave the LAN early. The Team Captain can register him/her at the actual LAN itself. This has to happen at least 30 minutes before the actual tournament starts, to the referee.
    • Each player can be apart of one team only. This includes the substitute player as well.
  • When the teams are in their respective chat rooms and the brackets are finished, the referee will contact the two teams that are matched against each other.
    • IMPORTANT: If the other team has not accepted or joined your game within 10 minutes, you are to report this to the referee and he will see if the team is absent (If the players are absent they will be notified by some means. If the players fails to respond within 5 minutes the team is thereby disqualified).
  • The referee will now do a coin toss to see which team gets to pick sides (T or CT) first as well as start with one map ban. After the first map is banned the next team gets to ban and then back again until a total of 6 maps are banned. No knife rounds will be held. (Read more: in the “Maps” section).
  • When the referee is ready and the warmup time is done the game starts!

Bracket rules:

  • Tournament format is Single Elimination
  • All Stages Best of 1 (Semi-finals and Finals included)
  • Team size: 5v5
  • When it is time for the finals (top 4 teams left) the tournament will work as follows:
    • The 4 teams play each other as shown in the brackets, the only difference is that the 2 teams losing in the semi-finals will play each other for the 3rd placement in the tournament.
  • Finals Lose -- 2nd Placing
  • Finals Win -- 1st Placing

Maps:

  • Maps that will be used are: de_dust2, de_mirage, de_inferno, de_overpass, de_nuke, de_cache, de_train
  • All games are best of 1
  • In best of 1 games, the coin toss decides which team starts to ban the first map. After that the losing team will ban one and then the winning team again etc, until 6 maps are banned. The last map (7) will be the map that is played in the game and the winning team gets to pick sides (T or CT) first.n
  • In best of 3 games, the coin toss decides which team starts the banning and picking process which proceeds like this:
    • Winning team bans one map.
    • Losing team bans one map.
    • Winning team picks one map. (Which will be in the first game)
    • Losing team picks one map. (Which will be in the second game)
    • Winning team bans one map.
    • Losing team bans one map.
    • The map that is left will then be the final and the decider of the whole match.

General Rules:

  • All attendees must have a valid Computer Ticket close by.
    • Meaning that if you are a +1 to someone’s LiU-ID or that someone else is paying your ticket. They also need to be close by to verify your credibility.
  • All attendees must be close by throughout all of the tournament.
    • This does not count for teams who have been eliminated or been disqualified for some reason.
    • IMPORTANT: If the other team has not accepted or joined your game within 10 minutes, you are to report this to the referee and he will see if the team is absent (If the players are absent they will be notified by some means. If the players fails to respond within 5 minutes the team is thereby disqualified).
  • All attendees must have an active CS:GO account to be able to participate in the tournament.
  • The Captain is needed to give complete and full information on all the participants in his/her team. This includes Full Name, In-Game Name and Steam Username.
  • If the Server would by any chance freeze mid-game or crash the referee will decide whether the game is to be restarted or have any other outcome. (Mostly the server will be restarted).
  • If a player should disconnect while playing, the referee will pause that round as fast as possible. If the player does not connect within 10 minutes and the team does not have a substitute, the team needs to keep playing with only four players.
    • This does not apply if the problem is caused by D-Lans equipment or Servers.
    • To disconnect by own free will, will be considered cheating and will result in disqualification by any means.
